Where is my local backup stored?(Android only)

When you create a local backup (Settings → Chat Settings → Backup & Restore Messages → Manual Backup → Export To External), the app saves it as a folder named psb in the storage location you choose during export.

There is no fixed or hidden path — your backup is saved wherever you pick, which is usually your phone’s internal storage or an SD card. So it typically appears as something like Internal storage/psb.

To find your backup

  1. Open your phone’s File Manager (or Files) app.
  2. Search for, or browse to, a folder named psb.
  3. That folder is your complete local backup (messages and media). Keep it together — don’t rename or delete it.

To move your backup to a new phone

  1. Copy the entire psb folder to the new phone’s storage (via USB or cloud).
  2. Install Calculator Pro+ – Private SMS on the new phone.
  3. Open the app and go to Restore Backup → Import from External.
  4. Select the psb folder and grant folder permission when Android asks — the restore will begin.

Tip: If you can’t find a psb folder anywhere, you may not have created a local backup on this device. If you enabled Google Drive backup, you can restore from Drive instead — just sign in with the same Google account you used for the backup.
